“ Grabbed a large order of jerk chicken to go, was more than enough for two! The staff was super welcoming and friendly. We really enjoyed our lunch and look forward to going back! ”
“ So happy there's a great Caribbean restaurant in the north side. My friends and I really enjoyed the oxtail, curry goat and jerk chicken. Oxtail was tasty and meat was tender. Curry goat had great taste. Jerk was decently spicy and adequate spices n flavours. For next time, I'd ask for more gravy, so it can be drenched over the bean and rice. ”
“ Went to D Wool Top Taste tonight and WOW! We tasted the curry goat and red bean soup, and took out stew beef and jerk chicken. Huge portions, a large plate is only $22 and will easily be 2-3 meals. The owner was very friendly, welcomed is in like old friends and we talked awhile about the menu, then the cook came out to meet us too. They also have tables to sit in, go visit soon you won’t regret it! ”
“ Definitely one of the best jamaican restaurant in town! Owner is very friendly and accommodating. The lady at the front is very lovely. The food is very tasty, I really love how it's not overly spicy so my kids can enjoy them too. The portion is huge, I can take out 2 meala out of it. Reasonable price! So far I've tried Jerk Chicken, Curry Beef and Oxtail and I must say they didn't disappoint. I'm definitely going to keep coming back. And also a huge plus that it's so close to the house. And the place itself is very clean and neat. ”
“ D’Wool Top Taste Caribbean Restaurant is a hidden gem, offering an authentic slice of Jamaican cuisine right in the heart of Edmonton. My experience here was nothing short of exceptional. I indulged in their city chicken paired with rice, a dish that was not only flavorful but masterfully executed, perfectly showcasing the rich, bold flavors of Jamaica. The service at this establishment is equally impressive. The owner, a truly remarkable and charismatic individual, added a personal touch to the experience, ensuring that each guest felt welcomed and well taken care of. His passion for both food and hospitality shines through every aspect of the restaurant. I had the pleasure of attending an event with the non-profit T.H.I.N.K. here, and it was the perfect venue. The space is versatile, making it ideal for intimate dinners or larger gatherings and events. The relaxed yet vibrant ambiance is inviting, creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal or celebration. One more note: parking is hassle-free, a rarity in such central locations, making this spot even more convenient for visitors. Whether you're seeking a great dinner spot or a unique venue for your next event, D’Wool Top Taste Caribbean Restaurant is a must-visit. Highly recommended! ”
“ I often go to boba club and have always noticed the delicious smell coming from this hidden in the corner restaurant and finally decided to try it out. (Disclaimer: I’ve never had Jamaican food before so I’m not exactly sure what to expect.) Service: called in to order as they weren’t available on ubereats even though the store showed up and it was open, so that was odd. Inquired about the fish they had but they were a little unclear, said it was unavailable today but they had seafood after 12? Not sure what that meant so just went with the fried chicken. The prices were also a bit confusing, we tried to order the $16 lunch deal but they ended up charging us for the “small size” for both our plates. So not sure what the difference is between small plate vs lunch deal? Also got charged an extra $2 for using credit so be aware of that. Food: The food overall was delicious! The rice and beans were soooo good. I’ve never had such flavourful rice and beans. Very generous portion of rice and it is very fluffy. Chipotle has nothing on these rice and beans tbh! The fried chicken also had really good seasoning but was not crispy enough. The jerk chicken was smoked beautifully and had delicious seasoning. Not too spicy, could’ve been a bit hotter but probably lessened it to appease everyone. The jerk chicken had less meat than the fried chicken so that was disappointing. The slaw on the side was crunchy and refreshing! Overall: a bit expensive but understandable as there isn’t a lot of Jamaican food around, it is unique options. Will be back to try the patties! ”
